Buildium Co-Founder Publishes Lessons on Improving Customer Service

Boston, MA (PRWEB) July 21, 2011

Buildium Co-Founder and CEO Michael Monteiro recently published “Improving Customer Service: 7 Lessons from a Startup” – a summary of his talk at the Massachusetts Technology and Leadership Council’s (MTLC) SaaS Business Model Series: Improving Customer Service and the Customer Experience by Leveraging Operations.

The event featured Monteiro and other business leaders from Massachusetts based companies. Monteiro focused his talk on providing actionable advice to other startups based on lessons learned during the course of growing Buildium’s base from 500 to 3700 customers in just three years.

“People think the software as a service (SaaS) model is all about how the software is delivered, but it’s really about the customer experience,” says Monteiro. “Companies that get it right have fiercely loyal customers. Those that don’t risk becoming obsolete fast.”

Monteiro notes that small changes that can yield big improvements in productivity, collaboration, and morale. “Small investments such as an electronic status board or wireless headsets can pay big dividends.” Monteiro’s 7 lessons can be found on Buildium’s company blog.
